Run an Impact Analysis

List what a container feeds and what feeds it, or rank a datastore's containers by everything downstream of them, then export the list. For what each column and tile means, see Impact Analysis.

Steps

Step 1: Open the container and go to its Lineage tab. To run it on another container, including one on a datastore's canvas, click that card first.

Step 2: Click Impact analysis on the toolbar at the bottom left of the canvas.

Step 3: The panel opens on that container. Choose Downstream for what it feeds, or Upstream for what feeds it.

Step 4: To narrow the list, type a name in the search box, or click the filter on Assets with active anomalies to show only those assets.

Step 5: Click Export to save the list as a CSV file. To save both sides in one file, click the arrow beside Export and choose Both sides in one file.

Step 1: Open the datastore and go to its Lineage tab.

Step 2: Click View all N linked tables on the center card. The UI uses the datastore's own word for its containers, so a file store reads files.

Step 3: Without selecting a card, click Impact analysis on the toolbar at the bottom left of the canvas.

Step 4: The panel opens on a ranking of the datastore's containers by everything downstream. To narrow it, type a name in the search box, or click the filter on Tables with active anomalies.

Step 5: Click a row to open the analysis for that container. The back arrow in the header returns to the ranking.

Step 6: Return to the ranking with the back arrow, then click Export to save it as a CSV file. It follows the search and filter you set.

Note

Export follows the filters you set, and its tooltip says what will be exported. It is not shown in deployments where downloads are turned off.
