Configure AgentQ Access Controls
A Manager or Admin can choose how much of your data AgentQ may send to the configured AI provider. The setting applies to the whole deployment, so it affects every user.
The levels are the classification Qualytics assigns to every AgentQ tool, so a level covers every feature built on tools at that classification. For what each one means and what it unlocks, see AgentQ Access Controls and the Tool Catalog.
Prerequisites
- A Qualytics account with the Manager role or higher.
- A configured AgentQ provider. See Add Integration if one is not connected yet.
Access Levels
The three levels form one scale, so picking a level also marks every level below it.
| Level | What it allows | When to pick it |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing about your data | Static guidance, rule catalogs, and User Guide content. Marked with a lock and included at every level, so it cannot be turned off. | You want AgentQ as a documentation and guidance assistant only. |
| Metadata shared | Names, schemas, tags, counts, scores, and other data about your assets. No values from your source data. | You want AgentQ to work with your inventory while every value from your data stays away from the model. |
| Source data shared | Individual data values from source datastores, such as the value behind a failed quality check or a profile statistic. Masked fields are never sent. | You want AgentQ to have everything, including the value behind a failed check. This is the default. |
To make AgentQ unavailable entirely, remove the AI provider instead of lowering the level. See Remove Integration.
Steps
Step 1: Click AgentQ in the left sidebar.
Step 2: At the bottom of the AgentQ sidebar, under Manage, click Settings . Beside the Manage label, a status dot and the provider name, or Not connected, show the current state. The Settings entry appears only for the Manager and Admin roles.
Step 3: Open the Access Control tab. Its header reads Pick how much AgentQ can see. Each level adds capabilities to the ones before it., with a Tool catalog link to the level assigned to every tool.
Step 4: Pick a level by clicking its card. See Access Levels above for what each one covers.
Under each card, the capabilities that level adds are listed as small previews of the screens they appear in, each named and placed, so you can see what a level turns on before you choose it. Hover the icon beside a level's name for a fuller description.
Step 5: Click Save changes. The toast AgentQ settings saved appears, and the new level applies to the next message users send.
Info
There is no separate switch for the Check Assistant, the Template Assistant, the AI suggestions, or Recipes guidance. The setting works on the tool classification, so each of those follows the level its tools are classified at, and the page lists them under that level.
Note
Lowering the level does not delete anything. Conversation history is preserved, and raising it again restores the capabilities.
During first-time setup
The same tab is the second step of Add Integration. After Continue on the General tab, pick the level here and click Connect AgentQ.
