Delete a Team

Use the Delete action to permanently remove a team from the system.

Permissions

Only users with the Admin role can delete teams. See the Permissions page for details.

Note

The Public team cannot be deleted.

Before You Delete

Deleting a team is a hard delete. There is no archive step and no undo. Understand what goes with it before you confirm:

What happens Effect
Member access Every member loses the access to the datastores that was granted through this team, immediately. Access granted by their other teams is unchanged.
Team associations The team's associations with its users and datastores are permanently removed.

Irreversible

Once a team is deleted, it cannot be recovered. You would need to recreate it with the same Name, Display Name, permission, users, and datastores. Make sure members who still need access have been added to another team first.

Steps

Step 1: From any page of the application, open Settings in the left sidebar. The Settings page opens with its tabs across the top.

Step 2: Click the Access tab. The Access page opens on its own row of tabs.

Step 3: Click the Teams tab. The list shows every team, one per row.

Step 4: Locate the team you want to delete. Type part of its label or Name in the Search field above the list, or reorder the list with the sort menu next to it, as described in Sort Teams.

Step 5: Click the vertical ellipsis at the right end of the team's row. A dropdown menu appears.

Step 6: Click Delete . The Delete Team dialog opens, asking you to confirm and summarizing what will be removed.

Note

A datastore must belong to at least one team. If this team is the only one a datastore is assigned to, the deletion is refused and the dialog shows the reason in a red message. Assign that datastore to another team first with Edit Team, then delete this one.

Step 7: Click Delete at the bottom right of the dialog to confirm. To keep the team, click Cancel or the X in the top right corner instead.

Step 8: A success message appears, the dialog closes, and the team is removed from the list. Its former members keep whatever access their other teams grant.
