Download a Diagnostics Report
Downloading saves the diagnostics report currently on screen as a standalone HTML file that opens in any browser. It captures nothing new: it keeps a copy of exactly what you are already looking at.
That copy is the only durable record there is. The platform never stores reports, so the moment you capture again, leave the page, or restart the engine, the report is gone. Downloading is how a moment in time survives long enough to be shared, compared, or attached to a ticket.
Permissions
Only users with the Admin role can open the Diagnostics subtab or download a report. See the Permissions page for the full matrix.
About the Downloaded File

When to Use It

| You are about to restart a wedged Dataplane. | The restart discards the state the report describes. Download first, or the evidence of what caused the restart is lost for good. |
| You are opening a support ticket. | The file carries the full picture in one attachment, so the support team does not have to ask you to re-describe it. |
| A finding points at a source or a cluster owned by another team. | You can send them the report that names the symptom, the cause, and the evidence, instead of paraphrasing it. |
| You want to compare two moments. | Download one report, wait, capture again, and download a second. Two files can sit side by side, which two live captures cannot. |
| The incident is over but the review is not. | Reports describe roughly the last hour of activity. Once that window passes, only a downloaded copy still has it. |
Warning
There is no way to recover a report after the fact. If you are unsure whether you will need it, download it.
Steps
Step 1: With a report on screen, find the file bar directly above it. It shows the report's file name, its size, and a sandboxed ยท engine-generated report label.
Step 2: Click the Download snapshot button on the right of that bar.
Step 3: The file is saved as dataplane-diagnostics-<timestamp>.html, where the timestamp is the capture time in UTC.

You download exactly what is on screen, including the light or dark theme it is currently rendered in.
