Deactivate a User
Use the Deactivate action to revoke a user's access to the system while retaining their account information for future reactivation.
Permissions
Only users with the Admin role can deactivate users. See the Permissions page for details.
Steps
Step 1: From any page of the application, open Settings in the left sidebar. The Settings page opens with its tabs across the top.
Step 2: Click the Access tab.
Step 3: Click the Users tab. The list shows every active account, one per row, with the user's name and email, type, role, teams, and last activity.
Step 4: Locate the user you want to deactivate. Type part of their name or email in the Search field at the top of the list, or narrow the list with the Sort by dropdown and the filter panel next to it.
Step 5: Click the vertical ellipsis at the right end of the user's row. A dropdown menu appears with the available actions.
Note
You cannot deactivate your own account, so the Deactivate action does not appear on your own row.
Step 6: Click Deactivate . The Deactivate User dialog opens, showing the account you selected and asking whether you want to proceed.
Tokens are revoked
The dialog warns that deactivating the user requires all of their active tokens to be revoked first. Any integration or script still using one of those tokens stops working as soon as the account is deactivated.
Step 7: Type deactivate in the confirmation field. The confirm button stays disabled until the word matches exactly.
Step 8: Click I'm sure, deactivate this user. If you want to cancel this action instead, click the X in the top right corner of the dialog; the account stays active.
Step 9: A success message appears and the dialog closes. Because the list shows only active accounts by default, the user disappears from it.
Tip
To view deactivated users, set the Account status filter to Inactive or All in the filter panel. Deactivated users can be reactivated at any time.
