Answers to common questions about container availability, manual links, and unlinking.

Availability

Tables and views of datastores backed by a database connector (JDBC and native connectors). File-based (DFS) datastores do not offer the dialog, and neither do enrichment datastores.

No. Computed Tables, Computed Files, and Computed Joins exist only in Qualytics, so the catalog has no counterpart asset for them.

A table-level asset. The picker searches the catalog's tables by name, identifier, or a pasted asset URL.

No. A manual link is never overwritten by a later synchronization, and it stays valid when the integration's configuration changes. To hand the match back to the automatic synchronization, unlink the container.

Unlink is only offered on manual links. The link you are looking at was created automatically, and removing it would be pointless, since the next synchronization would just recreate it. To replace it, use Change asset instead.

Several containers are linked to the wrong catalog source. Do I fix them one by one?

No. Link the datastore manually instead. Its link anchors how every container and field resolves on later synchronizations. Correct an individual container only when that one asset still resolves wrong.

Synchronization

Why is there no Sync button on my container's dialog?

The synchronization scope is the datastore, so only the datastore's dialog starts one. The container's dialog points you to the source datastore instead. See the Synchronization page.
