Mark All Notifications as Read
Mark all read declares notification bankruptcy in one click: every unread notification on your account is marked as read, the bell's badge disappears, and you start clean. Reach for it when you come back from time away to a count too large to triage, or when everything unread is about events you have already handled elsewhere.
Two things are worth knowing before you click:
- It covers everything, not just what you see. The action applies to all of your unread notifications, including the ones not yet loaded into the list.
- Nothing is lost. Read is a state, not deletion. Every notification stays available on the Read and All tabs, and through the API with
status=read. There is no delete action.
When the Button Is Unavailable

| The button is not there. | You have items selected. The header switches to selection mode, which offers bulk mark as read instead. Clear the selection to get the button back. |
| The button is not there, with nothing selected. | You are on the Read tab, where everything is already read. Switch to All or Unread. |
Steps
Step 1: Open the Notifications panel and click the Mark all read button in the panel header.
Step 2: Every unread notification is marked as read at once. The unread chip disappears from the header and the bell in the toolbar loses its badge.
Step 3: On the Unread tab the list switches to its empty state: a icon with You're all caught up. Switch to Read or All to see the items you just marked.
Tip
Marked something by mistake? Find it on the Read or All tab and use its Mark as unread action to put it back.
