Rename a Chat

Renaming a chat gives it a descriptive title, which makes it easier to find in a long history.

Renaming is available only from the AgentQ full-page view. The floating chat opened from the AgentQ button carries no rename control, and its header shows the chat title as plain text, so open the chat in the full page to change its title.

Note

Only a saved chat can be renamed, so a chat has to carry at least one message. An archived chat cannot be renamed until you restore it.

Title Constraints

  • Up to 40 characters.
  • Every character is allowed, with no restrictions on special characters.
  • Leading and trailing spaces are trimmed for you.
  • The title cannot be empty or only spaces. Saving an empty field cancels the rename.

Steps

Step 1: Click AgentQ in the left sidebar and open the chat you want to rename.

Step 2: Click the title in the middle of the chat header. It turns into an input field with the current title already filled in.

Step 3: Type the new name and press Enter. Press Esc to cancel, or click outside the field to save. This field takes a title of any length, and saving an unchanged or empty title does nothing.

Step 1: Click AgentQ in the left sidebar.

Step 2: In the Chats list, hover over the chat you want to rename and click the More options icon that appears beside it.

Step 3: Select Rename from the menu. The row turns into an input field with the current title already filled in.

Step 4: Type the new name. This field stops at 40 characters.

Step 5: Press Enter to save, or click outside the field. Esc cancels.

Step 6: The toast Chat renamed appears and the new title shows in the sidebar.
