Mention Notification

A Mention Notification is how a conversation reaches you. Discussions in Qualytics happen on the timeline of the asset they are about: a container, a quality check, a check template, an anomaly, or a partition. When a teammate wants your input there, they tag you with the @ token in a comment, and that mention lands in your panel, so you are pulled into the thread without having to watch the asset yourself.

What Triggers It

Someone posts a comment that mentions you on an asset's timeline. You do not need any relationship with the asset beforehand: no ownership, no assignment, no subscription. The mention itself is what makes the conversation yours.

Two rules shape who gets one:

Self-mentions: mentioning yourself never notifies you.
Edited comments: editing a comment notifies only the people newly added to it. Anyone already mentioned is not notified again, so refining a comment's wording does not re-ping the whole thread.

What It Shows

The title is a composed headline naming where the conversation is, built from the asset the comment lives on: a container mention names the container, a check mention reads Mentioned in a comment on quality check #<id>, and mentions on anomalies and partitions carry the anomaly or partition number. Below it, the message carries the text of the comment itself, so you can read what was said, and decide whether it needs you now, without leaving the panel. A long comment is truncated with a fade, and the control expands it in place.

Where Clicking Takes You

Clicking the notification is designed to drop you into the conversation, not just near it: it opens the asset, expands the comment thread, and scrolls to the mentioning comment, highlighted, even when it sits far back in the timeline.

The destination follows where the comment lives:

Quality check	Opens the check's overview. A mention on a check template opens the template instead.
Anomaly	Opens the anomaly's overview with the thread revealed.

A mention on a partition's comments opens the datastore's profiling view, focused on the partition's container. It is the one destination that does not reveal and highlight the comment on arrival.

Actions

Hovering the notification reveals its actions in the top-right corner of the item.

Icon	Description
Received	Hover to see the exact timestamp of the event. Informational only.
Mark as read	Marks the notification as read. Shown while it is unread.
Mark as unread	Returns the notification to the unread list. Shown once you have read it.
Open linked page	Goes to the conversation, the same as clicking the notification.
