Getting Started with AI Managed Checks
AI Managed checks are quality checks that Qualytics AI creates for you during a Profile operation. They typically cover 80–90% of the rules a team needs day to day, so you can rely on them out of the box and only step in when you want to fine-tune a specific rule. AI Managed checks are visually identified by a purple AI badge (four-point star icon) on cards, rows, and detail views.
In this section you'll learn what AI Managed checks are, how Qualytics AI creates them, what happens when you edit one, who is allowed to manage them, and how to work with them in the UI.
Permissions
Any user with the Drafter, Author, or Editor team permission can interact with AI Managed checks. Editing rule properties, coverage, filter, or fields requires Author and converts the check to Authored. See the Permissions page for the full matrix.
Authored Checks
This section focuses on AI Managed checks. To create a check from scratch, see the Authored Check documentation.

Managing
The only AI Managed-specific UI flow is editing — every other action behaves the same as on Authored checks (see the admonition below for details).
-
Edit an AI Managed Check
Modify the description, tags, rule properties, or coverage. Some edits convert the check to Authored.
Other actions on AI Managed checks
Actions like archiving, cloning, deleting, changing status, or bulk-managing checks behave the same way for AI Managed and Authored checks. See the general check management documentation for those flows. The only AI Managed-specific behavior — Profile re-creating a deleted check, evaluation edits converting to Authored — is covered in Introduction and AI Managed Checks in Practice.
