Modules Card¶
The Modules card on the Platform Status page shows which product modules are enabled for your organization: Data Quality, Data Observability, Data Catalog, and Master Data Management. For what each module covers, see Feature Availability.
On self-hosted deployments, the enabled modules come from your license. On managed deployments, Qualytics manages them for you.
Card Header¶
| ELEMENT | WHAT IT SHOWS |
|---|---|
| Managed by Qualytics | Managed deployments only. Qualytics manages which modules are enabled. |
<n> of <m> enabled |
How many modules are enabled, for example 2 of 4 enabled. |
| Contact Qualytics to enable more | Admins only, when at least one module is disabled. Opens the Qualytics support site in a new tab. |
Module Tiles¶
The card holds one tile per module, in this order: Data Quality, Data Observability, Data Catalog, and Master Data Management. Each tile shows:
- A preview of what the module adds. It is faded when the module is disabled.
- The module name.
- An Enabled or Disabled badge.
- A chip with the number of highlights, for example 4 highlights. On hover it reads View highlights.
Select a tile to open its module details.
If the module list cannot be loaded, the card shows Module details are unavailable right now instead of the tiles.
Disabled Modules¶
A disabled module's tile carries an extra control in its top-right corner. What it shows depends on your role.
| ROLE | WHAT APPEARS ON A DISABLED TILE |
|---|---|
| Manager | Ask admin to enable , which notifies every Admin in your organization. Once you have asked, it changes to Requested followed by how long ago, for example Requested 2 hours ago. |
| Admin | How many people asked, for example 3 users asked, when at least one request is open. Nothing appears when nobody has asked. |
Admins do not get the Ask admin to enable button, since requests go to them. They use Contact Qualytics to enable more in the card header instead. For how requests work across the platform, see When a Module Isn't Enabled.
Module Details¶
Selecting a tile opens a full-screen view of that module. The same view opens from Learn more on any module notice in the platform, and when you select a module tag such as DQ beside a feature.
| AREA | WHAT IT SHOWS |
|---|---|
| Module tabs | DQ, DO, DC, and MDM, to switch modules without closing the view. A filled dot marks the modules that are enabled. |
| Status | The Enabled or Disabled badge, the module name, and a one-line description. |
| Highlights | A preview of each highlight with its title and caption. Use the arrows below the preview, or pick a highlight from the Highlights list. |
| And more | Opens the module's section of Feature Availability in the user guide. |
| Actions, module disabled | Ask admin to enable for Managers, or Contact Qualytics for Admins. Admins also see how many people in the organization asked for the module. After you ask, the view shows You'll get a notification when it's on. |
| Actions, module enabled | A Contact Qualytics link to the support site. |
What Each Module Shows¶
The highlights are a selection, not the full list of what a module includes. Feature Availability has the complete description of each module.
| MODULE | DESCRIPTION IN THE VIEW | HIGHLIGHTS |
|---|---|---|
| Data Quality (DQ) | Record-level integrity checks and the recipes that create and validate them. | Anomalous source records, Rule type picker, Quality checks, Entity Resolution recipe |
| Data Observability (DO) | Volume, freshness, schema and metric monitoring, with the scans and quality scores behind it. | Data volume, Data freshness, Quality scores, Scans |
| Data Catalog (DC) | Lineage imported straight from your datastores, collected as part of every sync you choose. | Native lineage import, Collect lineage on sync |
| Master Data Management (MDM) | Turn resolved entities and reconciled rows into a golden set you can put to work. | Golden set, Mismatch resolution |
Who Can See the Card¶
The card is part of the Platform Status page, so only users with the Manager or Admin role can see it. Members do not open the Status page, but they can still ask for a module from any feature that needs one. See When a Module Isn't Enabled.
