Edit Anomaly Description

Rewrite an anomaly's description to add context, explain the business impact, or record what the investigation found. The new text replaces the description Qualytics wrote when the anomaly was created. See Anomaly Description for what that default text contains.

Permissions

Editing the description requires the Author team permission on the anomaly's datastore. The description of an archived anomaly cannot be edited: restore it first. See Anomaly Permissions.

From Explore or a check template

On Explore › Anomalies and on the Anomalies tab of a check template, clicking an anomaly opens its details panel instead of its page. The panel has the same Edit description button next to the Description label.

Steps

Step 1: Open the Anomalies tab of a datastore, a table or file, a field, or a check.

Step 2: Click the anomaly. Its page opens.

Step 3: Click Edit description next to the Description label. The description opens in the editor.

Step 4: Change the text. Select text to format it from the toolbar, or type / to insert a heading, a list, a quote, a code block, or a table.

Step 5: Click Save. The new description is shown, and the change is recorded on the anomaly's Timeline. Cancel discards your changes instead.

Let AgentQ draft it

When AgentQ is configured, click Suggest a description next to the Description label for a draft built from the failed checks. Click Use this (or Replace draft when there is text already) to apply it, Regenerate for another one, or Dismiss to keep your text. See AI-suggested description.
