Reveal Masked Values in Source Records¶
Revealing masked values in anomaly source records
Show the real values of masked fields in an anomaly's source records, when you need them to investigate the anomaly. The reveal applies to every source record of the anomaly at once, and it is recorded in the Masking Audit Log.
Permissions
Revealing masked values requires the Editor team permission on the anomaly's datastore. See Anomaly Permissions.
Steps¶
Step 1: Open the anomaly and scroll to the Source Records section. Masked fields show ***MASKED*** in place of their values.
Step 2: Click the Show masked values toggle in the section's toolbar. The Reveal Masked Values dialog appears with the number of masked fields to reveal and the number of records affected.
Step 3: Click Reveal . The masked fields show their real values in every source record of the anomaly, and the toggle becomes Re-mask values .
Step 4: When you are done, click Re-mask values to hide the values again.
Every reveal is audited
The reveal is recorded with your name, the time, your IP address, and the fields revealed. See View the Masking Audit Log.
