Configure AgentQ Access Controls

A Manager or Admin can choose how much of your data AgentQ may send to the configured AI provider. The setting applies to the whole deployment, so it affects every user.

The levels are the classification Qualytics assigns to every AgentQ tool, so a level covers every feature built on tools at that classification. For what each one means and what it unlocks, see AgentQ Access Controls and the Tool Catalog.

Prerequisites

  • A Qualytics account with the Manager role or higher.
  • A configured AgentQ provider. See Add Integration if one is not connected yet.

Steps

Step 1: Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left sidebar.

Step 2: The Settings page opens on the Connections tab. Click the Integrations tab.

Step 3: Under the AgentQ section, click the More options menu next to the connected provider and select Edit.

Step 4: In the dialog, go to the AgentQ access controls section. Both levels are on by default.

Step 5: Set the levels you want. Each one lists what it enables, and that list updates as you change the setting.

Level What it allows
No Sharing Tools whose results say nothing about your data: static guidance, rule type catalogs, and User Guide content. Included automatically, so it has no switch.
Metadata Shared Tools that send information about your assets, such as names, schemas, tags, counts, and quality scores. No values from your data.
Source Data Shared Tools that can send an individual data value from a source datastore, such as the value behind a failed quality check or a profile statistic.

Because the levels are cumulative, the two switches move together: turning Source Data Shared on also turns on Metadata Shared, and turning Metadata Shared off also turns off Source Data Shared.

Step 6: Click Update to apply the changes.

Step 7: A success message appears. The new setting applies to the next message users send.

There is no separate switch for the Check Assistant, the Template Assistant, the AI suggestions, or Recipes guidance. The setting works on the tool classification, so each of those follows the level its tools are classified at, and the settings screen lists them under that level.

Note

Turning a level off does not delete anything. Conversation history is preserved, and turning it back on restores the capabilities.

Common Configurations

Goal Setting
Let AgentQ work with your inventory, but keep every value from your data away from the model Leave Metadata Shared on and turn Source Data Shared off.
Run AgentQ as a documentation and guidance assistant only Turn Metadata Shared off, which leaves No Sharing.
Give AgentQ everything, including the value behind a failed check Leave both on. This is the default.
Make AgentQ unavailable entirely Remove the AI provider. See Remove Integration.
