Expand the Graph

By default, the Lineage tab shows the focal container and its immediate neighbors. This guide walks you through expanding the graph to load more connections from a specific node.

Info

Expanding works the same way on both upstream (left side) and downstream (right side) of any node. The expand controls appear on whichever side has more connections to load. Each expand action loads connections from that specific node only — the rest of the graph is left unchanged.

Steps

Pick the tab that matches what you want to load:

Loads one more level of connections from the chosen node on the hovered side.

Step 1: Hover the side of the node you want to expand. Click the Expand button (or for the upstream side).

step-1-expand-click

Step 2: The next level of connections on that side is added to the graph.

step-2-expand-loaded

Loads every remaining connection from the chosen node on that side in one click.

Step 1: Hover the side of the node you want to expand. Click the Expand all button (or for the upstream side).

step-1-expand-all-click

Step 2: Every remaining connection from that node on that side is added to the graph.

step-2-expand-all-loaded

Note

After several expansions the graph may start to feel cluttered. Use the toolbar's Reorganize action to re-apply the default layout. See Use the Toolbar for the full list of toolbar controls.
