Delete a Connection

Remove a lineage connection from the graph. Any connection can be deleted, whatever produced it.

Permission Required

You need the Manager role to delete a lineage connection. See Lineage Permissions for details.

Warning

There is no confirmation step. The connection is removed the moment you click Delete, and the action cannot be undone. A manual connection has to be added again by hand.

Steps

Step 1: Open the container and go to its Lineage tab.

Step 2: Find the connection you want to remove and hover the badge in the middle of its arrow. The badge expands to reveal a Delete action.

Step 3: Click Delete. The connection disappears from the graph and the remaining nodes keep their positions.

Note

Only the connection goes. Both containers and all their data stay as they were, and the other level of granularity is untouched: deleting a container-level connection leaves any field-level connections between those containers in place, and the reverse.

Tip

A connection produced by something else comes back. A data catalog connection returns on the next sync of that data catalog, a collected one the next time the relationship is observed, and a Qualytics managed one when the table is written again. Only a manual connection stays deleted. See Deleting Is Not Limited to Manual Connections.
